Walter Waygood Exhibition

This Friday, some of the Foundation Degree Photography students visited Big Pit in Blaenavon, where well-known Welsh Photographer Walter Waygood was exhibiting his photographic series, 'Family of Blaenafon and Family of Miners'.

Walter Waygood has been a visiting guest speaker at Coleg Y Cymoedd for a number of years, in which he engages and inspires students, talking about his experiences in producing documentary photographs of the Welsh landscape, home life, society, work, religion, mining and youth in Blaenafon from the 1970s onwards.

The stories that he shares are thought provoking, captivating and give a real sense of nostalgia.
